I am Thomas Besnard, a banana trader based at Rungis Market / France.

I would like to introduce myself and offer my services as an Opaque Broker, trading Cavendish, conventional, organic, and Fairtrade bananas.

I have been a trader for 29 years. I am fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese, which allows me to work with various players
in the European market, depending on supply and demand. This is what I would like to offer you.

Fruit that meets current standards, on an ad hoc, weekly, or annual basis, according to pre-established and regulated criteria. I am certified Organic, Fairtrade, Global Gap CoC, and IFS Broker.

I sell fruit from Ecuador, Costa Rica, Colombia, Guatemala, and Peru, unloaded at various European ports such as Dunkirk, Antwerp, Vlissingen, Rotterdam, and Hamburg.

Present at the Madrid and Berlin trade fairs every year to negotiate ongoing contracts as well as those for the coming year.

I’m at the Rungis International Exhibition Centre every morning. We have been wholesalers, importers, and banana ripeners for four generations. We sell a range of fresh ethnic fruits and vegetables from South America, the Caribbean, and West Africa.
